Previously the couple made claims that while they had some help during the day, they didn’t have full time or overnight help - but now they’ve got new twins, Knox and Vivienne, they’ve realised being parents to six children under six is more difficult than they thought.

A source explained: “The pregnancy and birth took a lot out of Angelina which is why she had to go into hospital early.

“She knows that breast-feeding the two of them is going to continue to exhaust her so they’re looking for a nanny.”

Angelina left the hospital with the babies in the early hours of Saturday morning, a week after the birth. A spokesperson for the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France explained yesterday that the actress and the babies are all “doing very well” but left under the cover of darkness just before dawn.

Photographers have been stationed outside the hospital and on nearby roofs, expecting Angelina to depart as she’d arrived by helicopter but instead she left in a VW people carrier with blacked out windows.

An observer reported: “There was a sudden spray of light out of the hospital’s garage way and then four or five people came out of that through a rear doorway. They stood behind the hospital in a small courtyard in the dark.”

The courtyard’s emergency access entrance “was suddenly opened by someone who was waiting in the bus stop beside the hospital.

“This group of people got into the van, very quickly. It was all done in a hurry. And they were very quick organizing themselves inside. Very rapid. And then ‘Pouf!’ they were gone.

“With all the press attention around them, a constant watch on the front of the hospital, they managed to leave so quickly, my hat’s off to them.”

Angelina and Brad are said to be in the process of signing a magazine deal for the exclusive publication of the babies first photos. The photos are expected to sell for around $20million, most of which the couple intend to give to charity.
