patrick swayzePatrick Swayze has described his response to cancer treatment as a “miracle”.

The Dirty Dancing star was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the start of the year, which typically has around a 5% survival rate (at five years after diagnosis), but doctors insisted he was responding well to treatment. However, by March, he was said to have just weeks to live after the cancer spread to other organs and had to have part of his stomach removed.

But after further experimental radiotherapy, Patrick was spotted at LAX airport over the weekend, smiling and giving photographers a thumbs-up sign as he flew out to Chicago to start work on a new television series The Beast.

He told them: “My treatments are working. I’m a miracle dude, I don’t know why.”
