Britney Spears wows guests with appearance at charity event

Britney Spears made a surprise appearance at Jenny McCarthy’s charity fundraiser on Saturday night.

The singer, who has maintained a low-key profile largely away from the limelight since her hospitalisation earlier in the year, attended the event to help raise money and awareness for the Generation Rescue organisation, which is dedicated to researching autism.

Onlookers told People magazine that while she hardly spoke to other guests: “She looked great and seemed really happy.

“She smiled and clapped during the video about autism. She was very into the information and watched a little bit of the dancers from Dancing with the Stars, sneaking out during one of the performances.”

After the lawyers reached a custody settlement for Britney’s sons with Kevin Federline, her lawyer Laura Wasser told the Associated Press this week that the singer has turned her life around in the last few months: “The difference from the beginning of this year to now is astonishing.”

Another source added: “[The start of the year] was a horrible period and she was on the brink of disaster but she looks wonderful now. You can see the happiness in her eyes.”
