Balthazar GettyBalthazar Getty has confirmed he’s split from his wife Rosetta Getty.

Rosetta is said to have taken the couple’s four children to Italy after rumours of Balthazar’s relationship with Sienna Miller came to light last month but the Brothers & Sisters actor refused to comment on the rumours.

However after pictures were printed last week showing him kissing Sienna on a yacht during a romantic break on the Italian rivieria, he has now issued a statement, saying: “The breakdown of a marriage is a very difficult and painful experience especially when children are involved.

“In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the Internet which has caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that, yes indeed my wife and I have separated and I will not be commenting any further.”

Sources close to the family insist that the couple’s marriage had been in trouble for a while and that Sienna is not a “homewrecker”.
