amy winehouseAmy Winehouse has been released from hospital after receiving emergency treatment yesterday.

The singer was rushed to University College Hospital in London by ambulance yesterday evening after what her spokesperson called a reaction to the medication that she’s taking in her ongoing efforts to beat drugs.

Fans of the star and photographers watched her being carried out of her Camden home on a stretcher around 9pm last night. Onlookers report that her dad Mitch Winehouse was on the scene and was initially shouting “she’s f***ed up, she’s f***ed up” from inside the house.

One fan on the scene told reporters: “Amy was surrounded by police and wheeled to an ambulance. I think it was her PA holding up a blanket. We couldn’t see anything except her feet. She wasn’t wearing any shoes.

“One of my friends said to Amy’s father, ‘Will she be all right?’ He said, ‘Yes, she’ll be fine’ but he looked upset.”

Later Mitch was spotted arriving at the medical facility carrying two bags of food and when asked how Amy was doing, he replied: “This is how serious it is - I’m bringing her some KFC.”

She is said to have had a “comfortable night” under observation at the hospital and was escorted out of a private exit shortly after 9:45am this morning.

Amy spent time in a private hospital, the London Clinic, last month after collapsing at her home as a result of a chest infection. She is said to have been told to give up using drugs or face an early, slow death from lung-condition emphysema.
