Nikki Blonsky and dad arrested over airport assault
Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky and her dad were arrested on assault charges in the Caribbean on Friday following an incident at an airport.
The pair are said to have engaged in a brawl with America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden over seating at the airport in Providenciales, in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Bianca’s mother’s Elaine was allegedly kicked and punched all over her body repeatedly and had to be airlifted for treatment in Miami.
A spokesperson for the local police department explained: “Things got out of hand in an argument over seats in the departure lounge, and several people were involved in an altercation. There were some injuries involved.”
Nikki was charged with actual bodily assault, which carries a maximum of two year in jail, and common assault, also known as threat of assault, which carries an additional 90-day term. Bianca was charged with assault with actual bodily harm. Both women were released on bail and are ordered to return to the city for a magistrates hearing in December.
