Lindsay LohanNow that Dina Lohan is said to be on-board about daughter Lindsay Lohan’s relationship with Samantha Ronson, she’s reportedly planning a lavish party to celebrate the romance.

According to the News of the World, Dina has told friends she want an extravagant event this autumn to “welcome Sam into the family”.

A source told the newspaper: “Dina is still working on the date of the party but it’s looking like towards the end of the year.

“Lindsay’s new album ‘Spirit In The Dark’ is out in November, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s around then.

The source added that Lindsay and Sam, the DJ sister of music producer Mark Ronson, may exchange vows at the event to show their commitment to each other: “They’ve been keeping the relationship quiet for months and trying to pass each other off as ‘just good friends’.

“But they’ve decided it isn’t a fling, it’s for life - so they want to make their romance public.”

This weekend, Lindsay criticised the Los Angeles Police Department’s chief after he referenced her sexuality in a comment about the need for paparazzi regulation in the city. He said that since Britney Spears had “started wearing clothes” and Lindsay had “gone gay” the amount of paparazzi activity had diminished so no longer needed monitoring by police.
