Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael DouglasCatherine Zeta Jones has revealed that her two children with husband Michael Douglas are so protected from their parents’ celebrity lives that they don’t really now that they’re both movie stars.

Catherine, who has a seven year old son Dylan and five year old daughter Cerys with Michael, told the Sun recently: “Michael makes excellent pancakes. He’s pretty good at waffles, too.

“Dylan was doing occupations at school recently and the teacher said, ‘You have to go home and ask Mummy and Daddy what they do.’

“So we were trying to explain to Dylan that we make movies and he went to Michael, ‘Hang on. Mama makes movies, you make pancakes!’

“So my two-time Oscar-winning husband with a career of 40 years looks at me and says, ‘Oh, it’s come to that!’”

The family live away from the madness of Hollywood in Bermuda and Catherine added: “There’s a real sense of privacy in Bermuda and it’s been great bringing up my children there - taking them to school without hassle.

“For me, it was the ideal choice, with it also being easy to go to New York.”

But the easy of the commute to the US doesn’t mean that having children hasn’t affected her career: “My career has changed considerably because I can’t take my children everywhere I go and neither can my husband, so we try to do the logistics of figuring out when is a good time I can I work.

“When I’m working, the children only like to come on set for about two minutes - then they want to go and play. They’re not that interested.”
