Dannii MinogueDannii Minogue has said that contrary to rumours she’s jealous of new fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, she’s happy about the appointment because it means Sharon Osbourne is no longer on the panel.

Sharon previously claimed that Dannii only got the job on the ITV show because Simon Cowell thinks she’s pretty but Dannii refused to retaliate while the two women were working together.

However, now she’s said: “There’s nothing Sharon can say that will make me feel angry or bad. I couldn’t live my life the way she lives her life.

“All the comments and behaviour say so much about her, and nothing about me.”

Regarding Girls Aloud star Cheryl being picked as Sharon’s replacement, Dannii added that contrary to rumours of jealous tensions between the pair: “I’m thrilled Cheryl has joined.

“She has experienced the whole process first-hand and successfully carved out a recording career with Girls Aloud.

“She brings a breath of fresh, young air to the show and isn’t afraid to voice her opinions, even with Simon.”

Auditions for the fifth series of the show started earlier in the summer and the series itself runs from 16th August until the end of the year.
