The Sweeney Todd star has two children, daughter Lily-Rose and son Jack, with partner Vanessa Paradis and the couple typically divide their family’s time between their two homes in France - but Johnny is said to be looking for a base in the UK for when he’s making films in the country.

Now a source has claimed that Johnny is considering buying a £5.5million Elizabethan property called Claxton Manor, about nine miles south-east of Norwich. The secluded eight bedroom, six bathroom property includes extensive grounds and Johnny is said to be inspired to try growing grapes for his own wine on the property after spotting a vineyard at another property he looked at - a nearby 13th Century moated house called Flemings Hall.

The source explained: “Johnny’s been a regular in the area for a while and everyone is convinced he’s looking for a home here.”

Savills, the estate agent handling the sale of Claxton Manor, refused to confirm Johnny’s interest in the property but said that while “there has been a lot of interest, it has not been sold”.
