Mary-Kate OlsenMary-Kate Olsen’s spokesperson has said that the actress had “nothing whatsoever to do” with Heath Ledger’s death earlier this year.

Reports began to circulate on Monday that the twin was demanding immunity from prosecution before talking to authorities investigating the death of the actor in January this year. Heath died as a result of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and investigators are said to have tracked down prescriptions for nearly all the drugs, bar some OxyContin and Vicodin tablets.

They have interviewed Heath’s former fiancĂ©e (and the mother of his daughter) Michelle Williams, the masseuse that found his body, his housekeeper and various associates - but still want to talk to Mary-Kate as she was the first person the masseuse called her after discovering the scene. Police reports claim that the masseuse spent nine minutes, in three separate calls, on the phone to Mary-Kate before calling 911 then called her again after paramedics arrived.

But Mary-Kate’s spokesperson has denied that she is demanding immunity and “had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger’s home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them.

“Regarding the Government’s investigation, at Ms Olsen’s request, we have provided the Government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr Ledger’s death.

“We don’t know the source of the information being quoted in the media regarding the Government’s inquiry, but these descriptions are incomplete and inaccurate.”
