morgan freemanMorgan Freeman has undergone surgery to repair damage to his left arm following his car crash at the weekend.

The Million Dollar Baby star and a female passenger had to be cut free from the vehicle and airlifted to hospital after the crash in Mississippi on Sunday night. Morgan is believed to have lost control of the car, causing it to slip off the road and flip over several times before coming to a halt.

In a statement released yesterday, his spokesperson explained: “Morgan is doing well after his surgery to reconnect nerves and repair damage in his left arm and hand.

“The surgery last night lasted four and a half hours. He’s visiting with family this morning. As of this morning he’s up and walking around and looking forward to his release in a few days.”

His passenger, family friend Demaris Meyer, is said to be “in good condition” but receiving treatment for minor injuries.
