morgan freemanMorgan Freeman’s spokesperson has confirmed the actor is divorcing his wife of 24 years.

Morgan denied split allegations in June after reports he had been unfaithful but his Mississippi-based lawyer Bill Luckett has now confirmed that Morgan and Myrna Colley-Lee are “involved in a divorce action” for “for legal and practical purposes [they] have been separated since December of 2007″.

The confirmation comes after rumours became to swirl following Morgan’s car crash at the weekend. A female passenger, Demaris Meyer, was riding in the car with the Oscar winner at the time of the crash, provoking suggestions she was more than just a “family friend”.

Morgan underwent surgery on his left arm and shoulder following the crash to repair nerve damaged. Demaris received minor injuries in the crash and has been described as being “in good condition”.

Morgan married wife Myrna in 1984 and had two children, Deena and Morgana. Morgan also has two further children from his first marriage to Jeanette Adair Bradshaw.
