Usher returns to his mom-manager Jonetta Patton

Usher has rehired his mum Jonetta Patton to be his manager a year after he defected.

Usher jumped ship to work with Mariah Carey’s manager Benny Medina in May 2007 but later claimed that let Jonetta retire to become a full-time grandmother to his new son Usher Raymond V.

However, following rumours last month, the mum and son pair issued a statement yesterday confirming the u-turn: “Usher has dissolved his management arrangement with Benny Medina and has re-engaged Jonnetta Patton as his manager.”

Inside sources claim Usher felt his career was slumping under Medina’s management: “He wanted her to come back on board and she decided to. He had really poor management and wanted her back.”

Medina insists the decision was “amicable”.
