Britney Spears - looking healthy and well preened - has recorded some promos for the MTV Video Music Awards next month with the ceremony’s host Russell Brand.

Watching the clips, I have to wonder what exactly is the ‘elephant in the room’. Is it:

  1. Alluding to the fact they don’t mention Britney’s awful VMAs appearance last year?
  2. That Britney is really, really uncomfortable with Russell, particularly by the end of the second clip?
  3. The actual elephant gallivanting behind them?
