Peaches Geldof married a nice boy to save herself, claims source

Peaches Geldof is reportedly anticipating the row to end all rows when her dad Bob Geldof returns from holiday next week.

While Bob has been on holiday in Spain with her younger sisters Pixie and Tiger, Peaches married boyfriend of a month Max Drummey in Las Vegas. The couple tied the knot in a quick, private ceremony last Tuesday and this Tuesday, Peaches flew back to the UK alone as Max had tour commitments with his band Chester French.

A source told the Mirror: “Peaches has always been headstrong - just like her mum Paula. But Bob still can’t get over the fact that she did this on such a whim.

“Right now he doesn’t want to see her. But he’s incandescent with rage and she is in for a huge talking to when they finally meet up. He’s worried she has made a huge mistake.

“She is still very young and he doesn’t want her to do anything she will regret. We’re all wondering which will last longer - Bob’s anger or Peaches’ marriage.”

But a source close to the 19 year old socialite claims that Peaches hooked up with Max for good reasons - she thought he’d stopped her sliding further into the drug-fuelled London party scene: “She and [ex-boyfriend Faris Badwan] had started regularly using drugs and she realised it was becoming a problem.

“Peaches was ashamed of the overdose and worried she’d end up like Amy Winehouse.

“So when she met Max again, who is a nice boy and a Harvard graduate, she thought being alongside him would steer her life on a different path.

“He was the nicest boy she could find quickly enough and was the key to her escaping the drugs that have been bringing her down.

“[But] only Peaches would go so far as to think a wedding would be the best way to go about this though.”
