Christian Bale not to be charged over assault allegations

Christian Bale will not charged over an alleged assault against his mum and sister during an argument.

Christian was accused of verbally assaulting and pushing his mum, Jenny, during an incident in his London hotel room the night before the city’s The Dark Knight premiere last month. He denied the accusation but voluntarily submitted himself for arrest and questioning at a central London police station the morning after the red carpet event.

However, now the Crown Prosecution Service has ordered police not to take any further action in the case, saying there is “insufficient evidence to afford a realistic prospect of conviction”.

The CPS’s statement added that while they take causes of domestic assault seriously, the “views of complainants are also taken into account when making decisions in such cases”, suggesting that Christian’s mum and sister were no longer interested in pursuing the case.

Sources close to the family claim the argument included a demand for money, to help his sister Sharon raise her children, and insults against Christian’s wife, Sibi.
