madonna and guy ritchieWith her big party with friends postponed until the end of the month, Madonna celebrated her 50th birthday yesterday with a Kabbalah blessing and a night out in London.

The couple attended at Kaballah blessing together on Friday night and Madonna was said to be “overjoyed” when Guy had screened a 20-minute film tribute to his wife.

A source told the People newspaper: “She was utterly touched. It was a real show of love especially after all of the hard times.

“He capped it with a short poem he wrote. It was full of emotion and declared how much he loved her - but at times it was tongue-in-cheek and made her laugh.”

Last night the couple, who earlier in the year were rumoured to be on the verge of divorce, were spotted heading into the Volstead nightclub in central London and were all smiles for the cameras.

An onlooker reported: “They looked very happy and relaxed with each other, nothing like how uncomfortable they looked together in Cannes.

“Madonna also looked really healthy, not half as drawn as she looked a few weeks ago and certainly not like a normal 50 year old.”
