Peaches Geldof: new husband worried about meeting angry Bob Geldof

Peaches Geldof’s new husband Max Drummey is reportedly worried about meeting new father-in-law Bob Geldof for the first time.

Peaches married Max in a quickie ceremony in Las Vegas on 5th August after just a month of dating. This week, the marriage was confirmed and a solo Peaches flew back to the UK while Max stayed on in the US to gig with band Chester French. Peaches has now flown out to Mallorca, where dad Bob is holidaying with her younger sisters Pixie and Tiger.

On Friday night, the 19 year old socialite was spotted partying with her family at the Sa Fonda bar, near their luxury villa in Deià on the northern ridge of the island, and dad Bob, who is already reportedly angry about the sudden union, was said to have been annoyed to see her dancing with another man.

An onlooker told the People newspaper: “Peaches was getting the deep freeze treatment from Bob. He icily ignored her antics and as he went to leave, they got into an argument and he walked out briskly.”

Speaking to the News of the World, newly-wed Max explained: “Bob’s not cool about the marriage. He’s mad about it.

“We’ve spoken on the phone four or five times and that was tough. We agreed we need to meet face to face.

“I am planning to get to England as soon as I can and, with Peaches, tell him my feelings. I’m really nervous but Peaches reckons it’s all cool.”

A source close to the Geldof family told the Mirror that Bob’s main problem with the union is that those close to her worry it’s a publicity stunt: “Most of her friends think the whole thing is just a big publicity stunt. No one is taking it seriously. It’s a bit difficult to believe the wedding and the band’s tour would happen so close together.

“If the marriage is a stunt it’s working well for the band so far. The only problem is that now everyone suspects it is a stunt, Peaches will probably get a real telling off from her dad.

“Bob’s told her that he will support her as long as she assures him it’s a serious relationship and not a stunt. He just wants Peaches to be straight with him and tell him the facts.”
