Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi marry at their LA home
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have married in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles.
The couple of three and half years exchanged personalised vows last night in front of 19 guests in the grounds of the home.
Both women wore Zac Posen outfits for the ceremony - Ellen a white pant suit and Portia a backless light pink dress - and exchanged Neil Lane rings. The garden was decorated with pale pink and red roses by florist Mark’s Garden.
An onlooker told Us Weekly that before the ceremony, “Ellen and Portia came out and posed for pictures with Ellen’s mom and their two dogs.
“They were hugging and kissing, and looked ecstatic. Ellen was helping Portia with the train of her dress, which looked like a Cinderella tutu.
“The whole afternoon seemed light-hearted. [They] were both laughing [as they walked] all over the lawn together holding hands and posing.”
The couple announced their plans to marry in May after the Californian Supreme Court overturned the previous gay marriage ban.
The women began dating in December 2004 and in 2005, Ellen said she hoped they would “be together the rest of our lives”: “I never would have thought my life would have turned out this way. To have money. Or to have a gorgeous girlfriend. I just feel so lucky with everything in my life right now.”

Hooray! Girl-girl is the new “black.” It’s exciting to see stars bold enough to talk about their alternative relationships in public. Fans of Ellen will love the dangerous, true girl-girl-girl romance written about by a Harvard Grad, his crazy wife and real Romanian dancers in:

It is a beautiful thing when two GAYS unite in marriage. Jesus ( who was a gay) made us all and he did not make garbage, so homosexual marriage of two people, no matter who they are as not according to Jesus plan is just silly. who made us all–Jesus? and if Jesus made us all and said judge not and be not judged….who is there of all of us to cast the first stone? As a gay Catholic married to a Moslem Arab I am delighted!
