The actor, who was previously married to Donna Peele for a year and to Denise Richards for four years, married third wife Brooke Mueller at the end of May.

Speaking at the Alma Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, he said: “It’s fabulous. We’re having a ball. I’m the luckiest man in the world.

“You guys don’t see much of us - that’s by choice. We’re having fun.”

Charlie picked up the best male performance in a comedy series award at the ceremony for his sitcom Two and a Half Men.
