Jade Goody told she has cancer while on India’s Big Brother

Jade Goody has been diagnosed with cervical cancer - and had to be told the news in a Big Brother Diary Room.

Jade shot to fame in the 2002’s series of the reality show then returned to the house at the start of last year to take part in Celebrity Big Brother. After her repeated clashes with fellow housemate Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, Jade was invited to take part in the Indian version of the reality series, called Bigg Boss and entered the house last week.

But, three days later, she was called into the Diary Room to be told the results of a biopsy she had during her recent hospital stay. A source explained: “She was called into the Diary Room and spoke to her agent and then her [doctor] in the UK.

“She just burst into tears, ran out and said to housemates ‘I have cancer’.”

A spokesperson for the mum of two added: “She is devastated. It is a terrible thing to be told you have cancer.

“When I spoke to her she was very upset, frightened and I tried to reassure her as best I could. This is a massive blow for her.

“It is pretty obvious that she was looking forward to her time in the house but her health is the first priority and she is flying back for treatment.

“It looks like her cancer is at an early stage but we will have to wait until she gets back to Britain and sees a specialist and has more tests.”
