Nicola RobertsGirls Aloud star Nicola Roberts has vowed off men for the time being after the end of her relationship earlier in the summer.

Nicola, who split from boyfriend of 18 months Carl Davis in May, told the Mirror recently: “I’m banning men. No more fellas for me. I want to be on my own. I’m tired of all the bulls**t that comes with having a boyfriend.

“I don’t want to deal with any more cr*p. I’ve learned the hard way and from other people’s mistakes. I’ve been in relationships since I was 16 and just want to be by myself and hang out with my girls.

“I’m determined to find out who the real Nicola is. And the only way I can do that is if I’m on my own. Since I was 16 I’ve been growing with other people and not alone.

“When I’m a grandma one day, I want to be able to look back and see what I’ve achieved, without having a fella on my arm. There’s always time to settle down later.”

Last weekend, Girls Aloud played at the V2008 Festival in both Chelmsford and Staffordshire. They’re scheduled to play another four outdoor gigs - in Hastings, Durham, Leeds and Wiltshire - over the next few weeks to complete the end of their Tangled Up Tour.
