She told Us Weekly recently: “We met through mutual friends. She was a fan of my show, and we decided to meet up and just hit it off.

“I thought she was a party girl - but she is not! She will actually stay home with me, which is awesome.

“I was asking for a positive light to come into my life and she just walked in.”

She added: “With another girl, you never have to worry about how you look in the morning because we both look sh***y, and it’s fine.”

Socialite Courtenay is said to have moved in with Lindsay as her “sober buddy” after the actress left rehab in autumn last year. She later moved out with sources at the time claiming she couldn’t cope with Lindsay’s untidy habits but another source told the News of the World at the weekend that Lindsay and Courtenay were lovers, and Courtenay became jealous of Lindsay’s friendship/relationship with Sam Ronson.
