Lily announced the engagement at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London last night by telling the assembled audience: “Introducing my soon-to-be sister-in-law Jaime Winstone.”

She then implored Jaime to “Show off your rock, show off your diamond.”

A source close to the couple told the Mirror: “Jaime is thrilled he has proposed. It is no secret they have had quite a rocky relationship but all couples go through difficult patches.

“This just goes to show that they are more solid than ever. They are completely loved up and Alfie proposing is proof of how much they care for each other.”
