Lily AllenLily Allen and Elton John exchanged insults at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London last night, with Elton suggesting that they both used cocaine.

The two, who were co-hosting the event, went head-to-head when Lily announced it was “the most important part of the night” before a particular award, but before she could give any details, Elton chipped in: “What? Are you going to have another drink?”

Lily retored: “F*** off Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!”

But despite his more advanced years, Elton boasted: “I could still snort you under the table.”

Lily told him to “f*** off” a second time then added: “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

A source explained: “Elton only meant the drink thing as a joke but it just escalated from there. He refused to be upstaged by Lily.”

Earlier in the evening, Elton also made a drug reference about Lily’s one-time good friend Amy Winehouse, saying: “Unfortunately Amy Winehouse could not be here tonight… but we will crack on.”
