Selena GomezSelena Gomez has denied suggestions that ‘I’m Sorry’, a song on her forthcoming album, is about rumoured boyfriend Nick Jonas.

The Wizards of Waverly Place star told Twist magazine recently that the track is her favourite on the album and it’s “about a boy I kind of fell for, but he couldn’t let his ex-girlfriend go, and it was really difficult.

“The song is basically me saying that I’m sorry that it didn’t work out or that she used to be who she was. But you have to let me in and you have to know that I’ll do everything I can to make you happy and be the best I can be.”

But after rumours began to swirl that the story was about Nick - and his ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus - Selena has told People magazine that it’s “definitely not” about the Jonas Brother: “It’s about someone back home in Texas.

“When I read [the stories], I was like, ‘Oh no this gossip has to go away!’ I haven’t known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I’ve gotten really close with all of them.”

She added that she hopes the other tracks on the album will be “really fun”: “But that is probably going to be the most heartfelt one because it was the hardest time for me. That story actually happened to me.”

The album is due out next year.
