So, by the looks of it, we’ve successfully exported Victoria Beckham and Sienna Miller. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Amy Winehouse also seem to be pretty bedded in over there too, even though they’re largely still based in London. So who’ll be next?

We’ve included some upcoming socialites, some UK gossip scene stalwarts and some people who’ll be carried over the Atlantic by their talent (even if that talent is just looking pretty in a dress).

Who do you think it’ll be?

The Contenders

Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole

cheryl coleWith husband Ashley Cole’s kiss-and-tell scandal at the start of the year and her new X Factor job, Cheryl is probably the highest profile Girls Alouder at the moment. Ashley’s football career might keep them tethered to the UK (or at least Europe) for a while but now the Beckhams have led the way, they could end up Stateside too. Cheryl’s practically VB thin and has been in a successful girl band too - so could she be as popular over there?

Coleen Rooney

coleen mcloughlinWhen Victoria Beckham and her family moved to Los Angeles, Coleen neatly slipped into the role of Queen of the British WAGs. The school sweetheart - now wife - of Wayne Rooney, Coleen’s been kicking around the UK tabloids for a while now. While she is still subject to considerable snobbish derision from some quarters (because she’s from a working class background and from Liverpool), she’s carving herself a niche as a reasonably normal (albeit rich) woman in a crazy world. She’s presents a programme about ‘Real Women’, does charity work and is into fashion without being a scary fashionista. But at the end of the day, she’s not been a Spice Girl and her husband isn’t an Adonis like David Beckham - so will she make it?

Daisy Lowe

daisy loweShe’s already got a famous-over-there boyfriend (in the besuited shape of Mark Ronson), famous dad (former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale) and through the latter, a famous step-mum (Gwen Stefani) and half-siblings (Gavin and Gwen’s children Kingston and Zuma) - so not even taking into account the fact she’s a lingerie model for Agent Provocateur, she’s already got plenty of potential. Her style sense - rockier and more cutting edge than some of the mini-dressed clones on the party scene - is also a big plus in some circles - but will those circles be gossip ones?

Katie Price (& Peter Andre, and family)

jordanKatie would love to be the next Posh Spice - moving her family over to LA with a huge media fanfare. Under her glamour model guise Jordan, she’s already made a few paparazzi-followed incursions for various bits of cosmetic surgery (most recently her boob reductions) and has hinted that the family might move over there full time so that oldest son Harvey can benefit from better medical treatment. But will she manage to crack the US gossip scene? Will she develop as loyal of a following over there as she has over here or will she be seen as too tacky to succeed?

Kelly Brook

kelly brookKelly has been trying so hard to make it in Hollywood for the last few years but hasn’t had much impact. She’s still utterly gorgeous though and now that she’s split from Billy Zane again, she could very well land herself an A-list man and be catapulted into the paparazzi favourites list in next to no time, a la Sienna Miller. Is she still fresh enough to US eyes to not appear like a desperate wannabe though?

Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle

nadine coyleNadine already lives in Los Angeles and has had a tabloid-friendly boyfriend before (Jesse Metcalfe) so it wouldn’t be a giant leap for her to make it into the big leagues. She’s also said to be eyeing either a Hollywood or solo music career in the near future, if/when Girls Aloud comes to an end, so that might thrust her further into the limelight - but is she special enough to stand out from all the other pretty blonde girls trying to make it big?

Peaches Geldof

peaches geldofThe 19 year old socialite is said to be planning to move Stateside now she’s married US-born Max Drummey. She’s a well-known face on the London party circuit - developing a DJ act with friend Fifi Brown, and dipping her toe into fashion design - but has yet to really solidify her status as a true It girl. Will she have more success in the US?

Pixie Geldof

pixie geldofNot even 18 years old (not until 17th September anyway), Pixie, like older sister Peaches, is already a fixture on the London party scene and has also landed herself a fashion line deal with high street store New Look. She’s not yet been subject to much of the boy-related gossip that Peaches has been dodging for the last few years, and hasn’t yet had a quickie Las Vegas marriage or anything but Peaches thinks her little sister will be a style icon - and so Pixie could follow in the fashion-forward footsteps of Mses Moss and Miller and conquer the US that way, maybe?
