Jonas BrothersThe Jonas Brothers have said they’re not annoyed by Russell Brand’s comments about their chastity pledges at the MTV VMAs on Sunday.

Russell, who was hosting the ceremony, joked that the trio should be taking advantage of their fame to get lucky with the ladies and that he had stolen one of their virginities before holding aloft a silver ring, similar to the symbolic rings the brothers wear.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat, the brothers avoided specifically mentioning the topic but Nick Jonas said: “For us it’s cool to see that he recognizes we are gentleman.”

He added: “I think he did a good job. We saw him on [The Late Show With] Conan O’Brien and thought he was hilarious.”

Older brother Kevin Jonas though thought that Russell’s comments and his political monologue in particular didn’t cover enough: “I think he focused on certain things and didn’t move off of them. People’s attention spans in America need more than that.”
