Jade GoodyJade Goody is undergoing a hysterectomy today in an effort to prevent the spread of her cervical cancer.

The Big Brother star checked into the specialist cancer centre, the Royal Marsden Hospital, yesterday with her mum Jackiey Budden at her side.

A source close to the family revealed that, unsurprisingly, Jade was worried about the operation: “Jade is terrified - she’s not in a good state at all. She has been putting on a brave face for her sons.”

It’s not known whether Jade’s operation will include the remove of her ovaries as well as other related organs as well as her whole uterus but she is expected to have chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with the disease last month.

Her spokesperson confirmed the reality TV star’s fears about the procedure: “Obviously she’s feeling very anxious but she’s in the best possible hands and having the best possible treatment.

“We’re all staying positive and looking forward to her speedy recovery.”
