larry birkhead and daughter dannielynnAnna Nicole Smith’s daughter Dannielynn still has to wear an eye patch to correct her genetic eye despite surgery seven months ago.

Dannielynn is said to have inherited the condition, strabismus, from Anna Nicole’s side of the family, with a cousin also undergoing treatment for the problem.

Dad Larry Birkhead told Us Weekly recently that the little girl, who turned two last weekend, is recovering, just slowly: “The surgery went very well. We still patch her to make sure the eyes stay equally strong - they’re still adjusting.

“She wears the patch a couple hours a day but she fights it, so some days she doesn’t wear it at all. There’s a chance she might have to have another surgery.”

Larry added that between Anna Nicole’s sudden death in February last year and Dannielynn’s condition, he’s always on alert when it comes to medical problems: “I’m so paranoid medically with what we’ve been through. If she has a sniffle: straight to the doctors. Anna had a fever when she passed away.”
