cheryl coleCheryl Cole has reportedly told husband Ashley Cole that she wants to start trying for a baby.

The couple, who married in July 2006, nearly split at the start of the year after Ashley admitted he had been unfaithful to the Girls Aloud star following a kiss-and-tell story - but a source close to the couple told the People newspaper that their relationship is looking healthy again.

The source explained: “It’s just like the good old days for Cheryl and Ashley. She finally looks like her trust in him has been restored.

“Now things are back on track between Cheryl and Ashley they have both agreed to try for a baby next year.

“[Between Girls Aloud and The X Factor,] the New Year will be the first opportunity for Cheryl to take a break.

“Cheryl’s schedule for 2009 is still to be finalised but she has told her managers why she wants time off.”

The X Factor judge has made no secret of her desire for a baby at some point, saying last year: “I’ve been broody since I was about 16. I’d love to have a big family.”
