jade goodyJade Goody’s on-off boyfriend Jack Tweed has reportedly told her sons that he’s on an animal-saving safari in Africa instead of in jail.

The 21 year old was jailed for 18 months at the start of September following an assault on a teenager with a golf club in 2006 - but with mum Jade undergoing treatment for cervical cancer at the moment, it appears he decided to tell five year old Bobby and three year old Freddy another reason for his absence.

According to the News of the World, Jack sent the boys a letter while in Chelmsford prison last week, saying: “I am in Africa in the forest living in a tree house.

“So far I have seen 26 big monkeys, four snakes and I have even saved a lion.

“That was really scary as the lion had his foot trapped. I had to un-trap his foot and run really fast to my tree house. I have met Tarzan a few times and he is helping me save the animals.”

The newspaper added that Jack included a note in the letter for Jade saying: “I don’t blame you if you don’t want to wait for me or not have anything to do with me. Just want you to concentrate on yourself and make sure you get yourself better.”
