Jade Goody’s cancer caught “in the nick of time”

Jade Goody has reportedly been told that doctors caught her cervical cancer “just in the nick of time”.

A source close to the former Big Brother star told the Sun that during her hysterectomy on Friday, doctors found that her cancer had begun to spread but are confident with the success of the eight hour operation: “It is not the news [the doctors] were hoping for but they believe they have removed all the cancerous cells and she has a decent chance of making a full recovery.

“Her chances are way higher because they have nipped it in the bud.

“Now the op is out of the way it’s a real boost for her and she’s so much more hopeful.

“Yes, she will have to deal with more chemo and radiotherapy but she’s strong and will be able to deal with it.

“She’s been enjoying visits from her family. Her boys [sons Bobby and Freddie] have put a real smile on her face.”

Over the weekend Jade was moved out of the intensive care unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London but is expected to stay in the hospital for at least another week. She will then undergoing a nine-week course of chemotheraphy and radiotherapy to kill off any remaining cancer cells.
