Jennifer Lopez completes her first triathlon just six months after giving birth
Jennifer Lopez has completed her first triathlon less than six months after giving birth to twins Max and Emme.
Competing in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon yesterday, the star swam half a mile, cycled 18 miles and ran four miles in 2 hours, 23 minutes and 28 seconds - raising $127,000 for charity.
After crossing the finish line and into the arms of husband Marc Anthony, she told reporters: “This is an amazing day.
“I feel really great and so glad I finished and that I made it out of the water but more amazing than that, I feel really great that we raised $127,000 for the Children’s Hospital [of Los Angeles] and hopefully it’ll go to good use.”
Jennifer’s The Wedding Planner co-star Matthew McConaughey - himself a new parent after the birth of son Levi in July - also participated in the race, finishing in 1 hour, 30 minutes and 47 seconds.
Hours after the race, Jennifer and Marc flew to New York to celebrate his 40th birthday at the Bowery hotel with celebrity guests including Brooke Shields, Djimon Hounsou and Kimora Simmons.
Over the summer, Jennifer revealed she’d decided to run the race while pregnant with her children: “I was watching TV, and I saw a triathlon and I said, ‘You know what? I think I could do that, that would be great for me to do. Maybe I’ll do it this year.’”
