Shia LaBeouf: I need more surgery on my hand
Shia LaBeouf has revealed he’s going to have to undergo further surgery on his hand following his car crash in July.
Shia was on his way home from a night out when another driver ran a red light while he was turning, causing his car was flipped onto its roof. The Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star underwent emergency surgery after the incident but he’s now explained that the work done was just a temporary measure.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “We propped [my hand] together so I could get through Transformers and then I’ll go have another surgery and be back to 100 percent.”
He added that the crash was “eye-opening and terrifying”: “The car hit me at 70 mph. It was one of the biggest things that’s happened to me, for sure, in my life. I’m grateful to be here.”
Shia was initially believed to have been drink-driving at the time of the crash but police quickly decided that the fault lay with the other driver and have yet to file any charges against Shia. The actor returned to work on new film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen three weeks after the incident.
