Robbie WilliamsRobbie Williams has reportedly split from girlfriend of 14 months, Ayda Field.

The couple had a relationship wobble at the start of the year but are said to have got back on track - only to be derailed again by Robbie throwing himself full time into work on his next album.

A source close to the former Take That star told the Mirror: “Robbie is absolutely gutted the relationship has ended.

“He thought Ayda was his soulmate, and the most beautiful woman he has ever met, so he was desperate for it to work.

“Unfortunately, the timing was not right for them, and after being on-off for a while they’ve finally decided to call it quits.

“They are still very good friends though and she was the only girlfriend his close-knit circle in LA actually accepted and genuinely liked.

“But Robbie is dead serious about his music, it’s his number one focus. He’s in the recording studio 24/7 working on his best tracks yet.”

The source added that there were basic differences between the couple that always caused tensions: “Ayda wanted to go to a few more parties and meet people. But Robbie has shunned the party-loving lifestyle for a quieter, less public life, only occasionally popping to the Chateau Marmont for drinks.

“[The split is] a blow to his whole circle. But they are happy he is back to his best musically.”
