George Michael apologises for latest drug arrest
George Michael has apologised to fans after being arrested for possession of crack cocaine and cannabis.
The former Wham star was arrested in the public toilets at Hampstead Heath in London on Friday after a tip-off. He was taken into police custody and formally cautioned before being released.
In a statement issued yesterday, he said: “I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out.
“And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them.”
In 2006, George was arrested on three occasions for offences related to the use of cannabis, including driving while under the influence of drugs. He was sentenced to 100 community service and banned from driving for two years after the incidents.
