Britney SpearsBritney Spears‘ record company has reportedly gone into damage control mode after an unfinished version of her new single ‘Womanizer’ was leaked.

A video clip - made up of the audio track and private footage of Britney rehearsing at a dance studio - was published on YouTube at the weekend and a source explained: “Record company bosses have been frantically trying to pull the material from the internet. But anything about Britney spreads like wildfire.

“The track wasn’t finished. It’s not good for Britney’s comeback if people aren’t getting to listen to the polished version. It is a massive glitch in the promotional campaign the record company were planning to roll out.

“Bosses are considering legal action when they find whoever leaked it.”

Britney SpearsThe source added that Britney is also personally upset about the leak: “She is finally getting herself back on the straight and narrow, but is still finding it hard to trust people again.

“The fact someone has secretly recorded rehearsals has really upset her.”

The single was set to be officially released to radio stations this week but is now said to have been pushed back to until next Monday at the earliest while the mix of the song is “being finalised”.

Britney’s sixth studio album ‘Circus’ is set to be released in the UK on 1st December, a day before her 27th birthday.
