George ClooneyGeorge Clooney has denied rumours that he’s planning a guest appearance on ER during the medical show’s final season.

Executive producer David Zabel told TV Guide recently that they have developed “a really good storyline for every character from the past” for the 15th and final series and are “optimistic” that George and fellow former castmates Anthony Edwards, Julianna Margulies and Noah Wyle would all return.

But George’s publicist Stan Rosenfield said yesterday that he can’t see the Burn After Reading actor returning to the show, no matter how briefly: “He is on record as saying he is not coming back.

“It is something he has already done. He is busy making movies.”

George left the show in 1999 to pursue his movie career. He made a brief cameo appearance the following series as part of Julianna Margulies’ final scenes, saying he wanted it to be clear that their characters ended up together.

The 15th series starts in the US this week and will end with a two-hour finale in May next year.
