Natalie Portman splits from folk musician boyfriend Devendra Banhart

Natalie Portman has reportedly finished with boyfriend of six months, Venezuelan folk singer Devendra Banhart.

The couple are said to have begun dating in March after the Closer star appeared in the music video for Devendra’s track ‘Carmensita’. Natalie waived her fee for appearing in the video after he donated a track to a charity compilation she curated, ‘Big Change: Songs for FINCA’.

A source at the time claims they “got together right after the video shoot” and the couple were spotted in Cannes and Natalie’s native Israel but new sources close to the actress say they have now gone their separate ways.

An insider told Us Weekly: “Things just weren’t working out. Natalie is young and they just were very different ultimately.

“She’s really a free spirit. She’s complicated because she’s very serious about her career and smart but also artistic and free-thinking. It’s tough to match.”
