nadine coyleNadine Coyle has dropped out of upcoming Girls Aloud promotional appearances because she’s caught shingles.

The women are currently promoting their new joint autobiography ‘Dreams That Glitter’ and speaking to Jo Whiley on Radio 1, bandmate Nicola Roberts explained Los Angeles-based Nadine absence, saying: “Nadine’s not very well at the minute and she’s got a horrible bug, she’s got shingles. So we all wish her well.”

Shingles, or herpes zoster, is a viral disease characterised by a painful skin rash and/or blisters on a particular part of the body and usually lasts for several weeks. Antiviral medication can help shorten the length of the illness and sufferers often take painkillers or use topical lotions to reduce the irritation.
