Travis Barker to leave hospital in a fortnight
Travis Barker is “doing good” and will leave hospital in around a fortnight, according to friend Jermaine Dupri.
Former Blink 182 drummer Travis has been receiving treatment at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, in Augusta, Georgia since his plane crash a week ago. His friend and fellow survivor Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein was released earlier today. Both were said to be in a critical but stable condition to start with but by Sunday, their doctors were confident of a full recovery.
Speaking at his 36th birthday party in Chicago last night, Jermaine told People magazine: “[Travis] is doing good, he’s gonna be alright. He’s just got a lot of healing to do.
“He’s supposed to send a message out to everybody in a couple of days to let everybody know that he’s feeling better. He’s definitely feeling the love from everyone.
“He’s just now getting everything in the hospital set up for him – iPods, computers, everything that he needs. You got to make sure he is comfortable.”
Jermaine added that he was in shock when he heard about the crash: “I was at home, somebody called me early in the morning. It was kind of crazy and I didn’t really comprehend what had happened.
“[But] I think everything will be cool when I get back there [to see him]. He’ll probably be up and talking crazy and all that – back to his old self.”
Travis’ ex-wife - and the mother of his two children - Shanna Moakler is said to have been constantly at his bedside after flying in from Los Angeles last Saturday while DJ AM has been visited by his friend (and ex-girlfriend) Mandy Moore.
Do you think Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid will last?
