Jade Goody to tell sons about cancer now she’s left hospital
Jade Goody left hospital on Friday, a fortnight after undergoing a hysterectomy in an effort to beat cervical cancer.
The one time Big Brother star spent eight hours in surgery in a bid to stop the spread of the disease and will now undergo a nine week outpatient course of chemotherapy - but her chance of survival is only thought to be around 50%, as the cancer is classed as the third most serious form (Stage Three).
A source close to the reality TV star told the Mirror that Jade has realised she will now have to tell her sons - five year old Bobby and four year old Freddie - about her diagnosis: “When she learned how serious it was she sobbed ‘How can I tell the boys? How will they cope?’ She is bracing herself for some horrendous treatment but she is more worried about the boys.
“Until now she has done her best to shelter them by telling them she has a bad tummy.
“Now she knows she also has to begin to prepare them. She is determined to have a few days enjoying a normal life with the boys before she sits them down to explain in a way they will understand.”
The seriousness of the condition also means her chemotherapy will have to be more intense than initially thought: “She had hoped that she would not lose all her hair.
“But now she has been told that she will definitely lose it all because the chemo will be much stronger. She’s really, really upset.
“Jade is really worried that she will feel so ill and weak that she won’t be able to look after the boys or do anything.”
The boys have been cared for by Jade’s mum Jackiey Budden and their father Jeff Brazier while Jade has been in hospital.
Do you think Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid will last?
