Scarlett JohanssonScarlett Johansson has married boyfriend Ryan Reynolds in a small, private wedding outside Vancouver, Canada.

The couple announced their engagement in May and were initially said to be planning to have a long engagement - but instead married in secret in a remote wilderness resort yesterday.

The ceremony is said to have been only attended by members of their immediate family, including Scarlett’s mum Melanie Sloan and brother Adrian Johansson. No details have yet been released regarding Scarlett’s dress or other information about the service.

The 23 year old Vicky Cristina Barcelona star met 31 year old Ryan in early 2007 shortly after splitting from their respective long-term partners Josh Hartnett and Alanis Morissette.

Their relationship caused Scarlett to reassess her previous comments against monogamous relationships. She told Cosmopolitan in July: “Monogamy can be hard work for some people. I don’t think it applies to everybody, and I don’t think a lot of people can do it.

“[But] I believe in finding a soul mate. I’ve always been in monogamous relationships.”
