Mel C: I’d let the Spice Girls look after my baby - well, their nannies

Melanie Chisholm has joked that with the Spice Girls, she’s got great babysitters lined up for her as-yet unborn baby - her bandmate’s nannies.

The singer announced her pregnancy in August and is due to give birth to the baby, her first, early in the new year.

Appearing on the Al Murray’s Happy Hour chat show to be broadcast this evening, Mel was asked whether she’d use any of her former bandmates for childcare duties and she jokingly replied: “Any of their nannies, [yes]!”

“Well they’re all mums and they’re all really good mums actually.”

She added that she didn’t know if she was expecting a boy or a girl yet: “I don’t know and I don’t want to know. In the end I do [want to know], obviously but not now.”
