Princess Beatrice is loving student life - and shopping at Primark
Princess Beatrice has revealed she’s been really getting into student life - and has even swapped shopping in high fashion boutiques for Primark.
The daughter of Prince Andrew and Fergie - who is fifth in line to the throne - started a degree in History and the History of Ideas at Goldsmiths College, London a fortnight ago.
After finishing her first week of lecture last week, she explained: “I wasn’t sure how the other students would take to me but they have been brilliant.
“They don’t gawp at me when they see me around like I feared they would. They just treat me like any other poor student there. I thought that they might be strange towards me but they haven’t been.
“They have accepted me like one of them. I was worried about it but it is all going well.”
While many students at the university stay in halls of residence around New Cross, Beatrice is staying in a flat inside St James’ Palace, the official home of her aunt, Princess Anne.
She added that it doesn’t make much difference to her that she’s not enjoying the wonders of communal living: “It doesn’t matter that I’m not in halls, although I didn’t really have a choice.
“It hasn’t really made much of a difference because I am in London and not many people do live in halls. A lot of them live at home, so I don’t think I have missed out.”
But she’s taken other student attributes to heart: “I’ve started to buy my clothes from Primark.
“It is so brilliant, it is such good value for money. I also go to Topshop, that is amazing too.”
