Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie has made her first public appearance since giving birth to twins nearly four months ago.

The actress walked the red carpet at the New York Film Festival last night with partner Brad Pitt, for the premiere of her new film Changeling.

Speaking at the event, she explained that it was odd being out of the limelight for so long: “Not nervous as much as I just took a deep breath because it¹s been so long. It felt a little strange.”

Angelina has spent the time as a stay-at-home mum to her and Brad’s six children - sons Maddox, Pax and Knox and daughters Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne.

She explained: “Everybody’s great. The babies are getting big and healthy and developing personalities. I feel great [and] feel very happy that they’re healthy.

“We are a little bit [sleep deprived]. We have some help a couple of nights a week, so on those nights we catch up on our sleep.”

And the older children help out with the new babies too: “They’re funny. They want to help a lot now, but they’re still so little, so it’s like trying to change a diaper, you have to be careful because they squeeze them so tight.”

But as for expanding the family further by adopting any more children, she added: “I think we’re going to wait a little while.”
