Jade Goody on her funeral plans and her feud with Jordan
Jade Goody has revealed she’s been planning her own funeral since being diagnosed with cervical cancer in August.
Last month the former Big Brother star underwent an eight-hour radical hysterectomy and is facing a long course of chemotherapy - but doctors are said to have only given her a 50% chance of survival.
She told OK! magazine that she’s having to deal with the realities of the situation - and that means making all sorts of unpleasant preparations: “Most people plan their weddings. But I’m planning my funeral. I’d want to have an open funeral and let everyone who wanted to come along.
“Maybe at my funeral someone could send me a wreath in the shape of a Marmite bottle with the words underneath, ‘You either loved her or hated her’.
“Some people say they don’t want people crying, but I want people to cry over me. And I don’t want anyone to have a booze up when I’m dead. They should have a cup of tea and be crying.
“There are people out there who think I deserve to be sick and to die, but I’d never wish that on anyone, not even Bin Laden, not that he has a womb. This isn’t something I’ve brought on myself.”
She added: “I know one celebrity thinks it’s disgusting that I’m making money from an illness … but then that same celebrity - alright, Jordan - sells stories on her disabled child. I’ve not said, ‘Give me cancer and I’ll sell a story.’
“And let’s not forget she was on the cover of every magazine when she had cancer on her finger.
“She might not like me but she didn’t have to say something like that. I won’t rise to her - what is wrong with her?
“To be honest, I don’t want to comment on her shallow behaviour. I don’t like her, in fact I hate her, I can’t f****** stand her.”

I do agree with Jade to a point… Jordan is hardly the right person to say Jade is over-publicising. I like both Jordan and Jade… like it or not, they normal girls who have done their best with the opportunities they’ve been given… if we are willing to watch their tv shows and buy their magazines, then why not sell it.
But Jordan has sold every story on herself and her family so it’s a bit hypocritical to say what she did about Jade.

i have every sympathy for a young mum with 2 small children battling such a dreadful disease. However, planning her funeral in the public eye is just another way of selling a story and smacks of sensationalism.
Cancer, the worst disease i can think of has already claimed the lives of 2 people very close to me, and i can tell you that the suffering which was endured , even with high doses of morphine and other drugs, did nothing to stop 1 of those people dying an agonising death.
Does Jade realise that while she may have been given odds of 50/50, 50% of that prognosis means that she will survive, and may even be cured. So why is she talking about funerals before she has even started the treatment.
As far as i can see, it’s just another way that she can make money out of the never ending curiosity of the gullible public who continue to buy the papers and magazines in which she and other talentless ‘celebs’ are in.
Dont we have anything better to do with our money than spend it on these ridiculously cheap and nasty publications.
If you have £5 to spare, why not donate it to your local hospice, who continue to look after terminally ill children and adults and their families without any help from the goverment.
I hope that Jade survives this awful disease, and with the treatment that is available to her, privately i’m sure, she will not have to wait on NHS waiting lists to see consultants or for special tests which can cause delays and therefore lessen the chances of survival as we mere mortals would.
My friend went to see his doctor in April, saw his consultant , after waiting almost 2 months for the appointment, and was told in December that there was nothing more they could do for him. He died in May, after enduring months of pain.
If you read this Jade, please please please, enjoy your life with your children. Close the door to the publicity train which will run over you and leave you on the tracks, and be a mum and daughter to those that really care about you. Have the treatment, and get better, and god willing you will come out the other side a mature human being who realises that life is very short and unpredictable, and should never be taken for granted.
Do you really think that the magazines give a hoot about you really. all they want is a story, and if you keep giving out all this information, it makes you look nasty.
