Christian Slater went back to high school for his kids

Christian Slater has revealed he went back to school to get his high school equivalency diploma to show his children the importance of education.

The True Romance star has a nine year old son Jaden and a seven year old daughter Eliana from his marriage to ex-wife Ryan Haddon and told Parade magazine recently: “I wanted to be able to look them (kids) in the eye and feel they were looking in the eyes of somebody who was making an effort to take care of himself and be a better person.

“High school was not something that I remotely took seriously, and now I’ve got these kids, so it’s like, ‘Oh, gosh, what am I going to do? I obviously care for them to get an education, and I want them to take it seriously, so I’m going to have to do something.’

“I had to go to a high school classroom with a bunch of kids getting their GED (General Equivalency Diploma). It was a three-day test. I did very well on the reading portions of it. I was very proud of that… I squeaked by. That was a good moment.”
